This is a Melissa Sweet princess cut dress in ivory mikado silk with a slight pinkish cast to the fabric that is extremely flattering to most skin tones, especially paler brides. The dress has a chapel train with built-in bustling buttons, "kissing" covered buttons down the back of the dress, and hand embroidery and sequins on the spaghetti straps, bodice, train perimeter and medallion at the base of the buttons. The dress was a sample size, altered to fit me. I am 5'2" 115#. My measurements are 34, 27, 36. I wore a 3" heel, and the dress was hemmed to that length. The dress is perfect for a petite bride! One of the special details about this dress is the embroidery and sequin pattern have both silver and blue, so the "something blue" is in the dress, only so subtle, it's only noticeable up close. In fact, I wore jewelry with aquamarine stones around my neck to highlight this detail, and my bridesmaids wore silvery blue silk gowns as well. Also special is the texture of this silk, it is sublime! Slightly heavier and more full-bodied than a typical taffeta, the mikado almost glows. Again, it's subtle, not shiny, so it highlights the beauty of the bride in photographs, it doesn't out-luster her! This would be a great dress for either night or daytime wedding. I wore it in October, so it's also season less if you're indoors.
