The corset top has lots of structure so bra probably not needed. Comes with optional straps that clip on. I'm 5'1 so in the pics of me there is LOTS of extra dress. I bought this dress from Nearly Newlywed but decided not to wear it. It is beautiful but would require too many alterations to fit me properly. The only alteration is that one of the layers of crinoline to make the skirt less poofy.
